Jabir (R) said: While ascending, we would say:
اللهُ أَكْـبَر .
Allahu akbar.
‘Allah is the greatest.’
…and when descending, we would say:
سُبْـحانَ الله .
Subhanal-lah.
‘How perfect Allah is.’
